George P. Harvey: 1867-1877
George P. Harvey was a bottler in Newport, Rhode Island. He began his business with
Ira Harvey during the 1860s. At that time, they were known as Harvey & Co.
In 1867, George left this
business and formed the Geo. P. Harvey & Co. with J.W. Harvey. Their company was located on 14 Bath Road in Newport. James
S. Hazard acted as agent. They bottled sodas, ciders, ale and porter. The business lasted for ten years, closing all
operations in 1877.
